However, it is heavily DLC based. I recommend waiting for the price to drop a lot and getting all of the DLC or waiting for a package to come out besides the Hunting Season pass or other option. The DLC model for this game drove players away, and the servers are ghost towns, but what I was able to play was enjoyable, and could easily draw a crowd if the price was constantly dollars, or even free-to-play.
Great game to bad its dead, could have been amazing. Put 1st disc in drive, it was recognized, almost immediately, asked for the 2nd disc, put that in, same, asked for the 3rd disc. Did not install a thing. I tried 3 times, in two different disc drives.
Not sure, but, looks to me like I was sent "copies" of the original. Also, I cant remember having a game that came with 4 dvd discs, usually 1, maybe 2.
Sent back today. Game will not install from disc!!!! Blew my data cap in a matter of minutes. So now that we are a few months past launch, I feel its the perfect time to discuss Evolve and the sadness of what could have been. First, the gameplay itself is frankly bipolar. On average you will have 5 minutes of doing nothing but running be shattered by 2 minutes of intense combat, then rinse and repeat until either the hunters or monster is dead.
Of course when things get balanced too far one way or the other you start to get some intensely frustrating play. A good monster will leave the hunters running in circles for 15 minutes only to come stomp them at stage 3 and a poor monster download evolve for pc get destroyed in a minute during the first engagement. Both are not very fun, as you spend more time in loading screens than you do in combat.
